The long version

If you've walked past our house on a weekday and wondered why I'm home, here's the long version.

I run a small company that works with real estate brokers — the people who own and run real estate offices.

Most of them are very good at real estate and stuck on the business side of it: finding agents, training them, and running an office that makes money without eating every evening and weekend.

That last part is personal.

I built my work around being home. Blair and I have two daughters, and being here for them is the whole point of working from a desk in the front section.

Every Monday morning I teach a training session for a brokerage in Maryland. It runs thirteen weeks, over video, and this fall I'm in the middle of it.

After that I meet with Johnell Woody. Johnell has spent forty years in this business, and she's the qualifying broker at M Rich Real Estate, the brokerage I'm licensed with.

We plan the week: the classes we're teaching, and the agents we're working to recruit.

I got my license in October 2024, mostly to understand the business I was advising from the inside.

Which brings me to this newsletter.
